How We Choose Which Providers to Cover
This comparison includes only telehealth platforms that prescribe FDA-approved brand-name GLP-1 medications. We do not cover providers whose primary offering is compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide.
In February 2026, the FDA sent warning letters to more than 30 telehealth companies over misleading marketing of compounded GLP-1 drugs. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been tested for safety, efficacy, or quality. Our focus on brand-name providers is a deliberate editorial position — it protects you, the reader, from misinformation.
What Separates a Good GLP-1 Provider from a Bad One
Not all telehealth GLP-1 programs deliver the same quality of care. Here's what we look at when evaluating each one:
Medical oversight. A legitimate program requires a real clinical consultation — not just a questionnaire. Look for providers where a licensed physician, NP, or PA reviews your medical history, orders labs if appropriate, and follows up regularly.
Prior authorization support. If you have insurance, prior auth is the single biggest barrier to accessing brand-name GLP-1 medications. Providers who have dedicated PA teams (Ro, WeightWatchers Clinic, Calibrate, Mochi Health) are worth the extra cost if insurance coverage is your goal.
Lifestyle support. GLP-1 medications work best alongside sustainable diet and lifestyle changes. Providers like Noom Med, WeightWatchers Clinic, and Form Health embed this into their programs. Others leave it entirely to you.
Transparent pricing. Know what you're paying before you start — consultation fee, medication cost, and any ongoing subscription. Some providers bundle these; others separate them. We note pricing structures in each review.
How to Read Our Ratings
Every provider in our comparison has a full individual review. Use the "Read our review" links to see detailed breakdowns of the enrollment process, real patient experience notes, side-by-side cost analysis, and our overall recommendation.
The "Top Pick" designation goes to providers we'd recommend without hesitation to most readers based on medication access, pricing transparency, quality of clinical oversight, and affiliate partner terms that don't influence our editorial independence.
